Spartan Beast Race Report from Heidi

posted Oct 4, 2016, 2:35 PM by Zachary Jabin

When I saw the Sun Peaks trail the night before the race honestly I was a little scared. It was up two huge hills up to the summit and back down. I have ran hills but nothing like this.

I woke up the next morning ready to take on this challenge. Within 15 minutes of running I realized just how steep the hills were and how difficult it was gonna be. That was probably the hardest part of the race was the elevation gain.

There was cold creeks, a bucket carry, spare throw, and all the obstacles that I expected. My training had got me ready to endurance being tired and pushing through and that came in handy with this race.

At the end of the race I had pushed my body to the max and was satisfied to have just finished. Being able to complete a task I doubted the night before gave me a feeling of accomplishment and that's the reason I race. Thanks to Adventure Fitness to prep me with the tools I need to succeed!
